Nádasdy Ferenc Museum

The Nádasdy Castle in Sárvár is one of Hungary's historic monuments that has survived the storms of centuries in perfect condition. The castle's and museum's most beautiful room is the ceremonial hall built by Ferenc III Nádasdy. The ceiling frescoes, completed in 1653, depict the battles fought between 1591 and 1602 by Ferenc II Nádasdy, the famous 'Black Bey', a hero of the wars against the Turks. The museum's decorative arts collection is also diverse. The hussar history exhibition is Europe's only standalone hussar exhibition open to visitors. The map history exhibition features original map engravings from the 16th to 18th centuries, depicting Hungary and its surroundings. Take the time to discover the treasures of the museum. Step through the gateway to timeless secrets! It's worth it.
