Forest Gastro Express Experience Tour

Guests can embark on a forest culinary tour aboard the Forest Gastro Express, departing from the Michelin-recommended Végállomás Bistro & Wine restaurant, taking them to the Edible Forest stop in the Bükk. Here, they can explore the edible parts of the surrounding Bükk forest on a guided wild plant discovery tour, featuring professional guidance and forest stand-up comedy.

During the miniature train ride, you’ll learn about the secrets of collecting wild greens, fruits, and mushrooms, as well as their uses.

The guided tour is led by two experts, including Gyula Bózsó, a certified forest engineer, forest food scout, mushroom inspector, and wild edible plant expert – author of the book "The Forest is Delicious".

Spring menu:

*Chef’s welcome: Forest nettle hummus, quail egg, wild onion, sourdough bread

Starter: Smoked trout "salad" on Bükk wood, wild apple, fresh forest greens

Main course: Wild boar cheek in acorn crumb, ground elder aioli, roasted mushrooms, savoury straw potatoes

Dessert: Blackberry "bear paw", spruce powder, wood sorrel ice cream

*The menu can be paired with wines, but we also offer non-alcoholic options, including "A Drop of Forest", which can be ordered on-site during the event.
