Hévíz Tours / Poets, Writers, and Love Stories in Hévíz
On our new sightseeing walk, we follow in the footsteps of poets and writers who came to Hévíz seeking peace, healing, and inspiration. The plaques and statues come to life, sharing marvellous words and poems from the pens of renowned authors.
During our walk, we’ll talk about the poets and writers who created or were inspired in Hévíz, such as Zsigmond Móricz, Lőrinc Szabó, Csokonai, or Berzsenyi. We’ll discover how they spent their time here and what left them in awe. We’ll also learn why a town famous for its thermal lake could become a cultural hub. We’ll discuss the Hévíz literary journal, which has represented contemporary literature for 32 years, and the Csokonai Society, a steadfast institution for 38 years. Those who enjoy lighter genres will also find something of interest, as the town is now home to a well-known crime writer. Additionally, we’ll share some stories, as entertaining and insightful children’s tales about Hévíz have been penned by local authors.
This walk is recommended for those who love literature or even for those who have never been drawn to this art form but are passionate about Hévíz and keen to discover a different side of the town.
