Artfully Crafted Handcrafted Chocolate
Did you know that sea buckthorn is not only an immune-boosting superfruit but also pairs wonderfully with dark chocolate? This harmony was discovered by Melinda Gorza, the founder of GM Design Chocolate Workshop, when she created her sea buckthorn-flavoured dark chocolate and bonbons. But Melinda's workshop is special for more than just this: her creativity is regularly tested at pastry competitions, from which she often returns with accolades. From Childhood Dream to Reality
Melinda decided at the age of nine that she wanted to become a pastry chef, and she fulfilled this dream in 2006 when she earned her pastry chef qualification. Since then, she has been continuously improving her skills, particularly in the field of chocolate making. For her, working with handcrafted chocolate is not just a profession but a passion and a creative process.
In 2025, she opened her own workshop and shop in Keszthely under the name GM Design, where she crafts handmade chocolates using Belgian ingredients. What Melinda loves most about chocolate is that she can create a product that brings a little happiness to everyday life.
To hone her skills and creativity, Melinda regularly participates in pastry competitions, where artistic chocolate sculptures and decorative designs take centre stage. She usually competes in the artistic category – with edible chocolate sculptures and lifelike compositions that require weeks of work, precision, and plenty of imagination.
For Those with a Sweet Tooth
The shop's selection includes everything a sweet tooth could desire: filled and unfilled chocolate bars, bonbons, chocolate sculptures, chocolate flowers, and a variety of flavours.
Melinda crafts all her products using artisanal techniques and high-quality Belgian chocolate. She does not use cocoa mass, palm fat, or artificial additives.
The milk chocolate contains 36.5% cocoa, while the dark chocolate has a cocoa content of 70.5%.
She oversees every step of the chocolate-making process herself: tempering the chocolate at precise temperatures to ensure the final product is shiny, smooth, and crisp. After tempering, the chocolate is poured into moulds – whether for bars, bonbons, figures, or custom roses. For filled chocolates, she also creates the fillings according to her own taste. The flavours change seasonally: sour cherry, raspberry, coconut, pistachio, rose, salted caramel, but the most unique of all is sea buckthorn.
For decoration, she often uses freeze-dried fruits, edible flowers, and nuts. After cooling, the finished chocolates are packaged – you can even request them in gift boxes or with festive themes.
A special treat is the chocolate-coated dried or fresh fruit, which is also available seasonally.
A Chocolate Experience
You can find the GM Design shop in the heart of Keszthely, near the main square. The small shop serves as both a retail space and a glimpse into the workshop: behind the retail area is the open chocolate workshop, so if you're curious, you can take a peek at the chocolate-making process.
The shop is open from Tuesday to Saturday, and you can also find Melinda and her sweets at the Hévíz Farmers' Market on Thursdays and Saturdays.

Sea Buckthorn-Filled Dark Chocolate Bars & Bonbons
Among GM Design's most exciting creations are the sea buckthorn-filled dark chocolate bars and bonbons, where the distinctive, tangy fruit and the silky chocolate achieve perfect balance.
The 70.5% premium-quality Belgian dark chocolate base is complemented by a refreshing, slightly citrusy sea buckthorn ganache cream, which not only adds a unique flavour but also provides a real source of vitamins to the sweets.
Did you know? Ganache cream is a silky mixture of melted chocolate and butter, often used as a base for fillings. In this case, Melinda flavours it with sea buckthorn purée and ground seeds.
Melinda sources the sea buckthorn from a local producer, the Kiss Sea Buckthorn Farm in Bocfölde, ensuring the ingredient is not only fresh but also comes from a reliable source.
