Grál Cellar

Grál Cellar is not just a wine cellar, but a place where dreams are truly carved in stone.

More information

Grál Cellar is not just a wine cellar, but a place where dreams are truly carved in stone. Attila Ducsai, the owner and carpenter, envisioned and created this unique underground world in the southwestern part of Görömböly. The story began with a small cellar where the joys of winemaking brought friends together. As the wine and the circle of friends grew, so did the cellar – Attila and his friends dug out new passages one after another. During the expansion of the cellar, Attila also created a room adorned with motifs from the era of the Hungarian conquest. Later, inspired by the Enchanted Forest while watching a fairy tale with his family, he carved it into the walls as well. The expansions even included an underground castle, complete with a forest created within the cellar walls. Inspired by the Aggtelek dripstone cave, he also created a dripstone cave that functions as a wellness room. Grál Cellar has become a special venue for family events and gatherings, and even includes a small chapel housing a statue of Mary, which holds the memory of a significant event for the owner. Since its opening, group visits require prior booking, and numerous events are organised here, such as the St. John's Night potluck ball. Grál Cellar is not just a place for wine and friendship, but a magical world where every visitor can experience its unique and captivating atmosphere.
